Frequently asked
Does PicSift upload my photos?
No. All scoring, face detection, search, and curation happens on your
device using Apple's CoreML framework. Your photos, scores, and face
data never leave the device. The
Privacy Policy goes into more detail.
I bought Pro on Mac — why is iPhone asking me to buy it again?
PicSift uses Apple's Universal Purchase, which means one purchase
unlocks the app across Mac, iPhone, and iPad. If you bought Pro on
Mac and iPhone is prompting you to buy again, try
Settings → Restore Purchase while signed in
with the same Apple ID. If that doesn't unlock it, write to
[email protected]
with your transaction ID and we'll sort it.
My library has 5,000 photos — will PicSift be slow?
PicSift is designed for libraries up to several thousand photos.
Scoring runs on Apple's Neural Engine and takes a few minutes
depending on device. You can background the app mid-run on iPhone
and iPad; scoring continues and finishes via a background task.
Mac runs in the foreground.
How do I report a bug or share a diagnostic?
In the app: Settings → About → Share a Diagnostic.
That bundles a redacted system log into a file you can attach to email.
Nothing is sent automatically — you choose where it goes.
Can I export my keepers to a folder, not just Apple Photos?
Yes. On Mac, choose any folder via the Finder. On iPhone and iPad,
export to Files (any cloud or local destination), Apple Photos
(as a new album), or directly through the share sheet to AirDrop,
Messages, Mail, and so on.
What if I delete the app or move to a new device?
Your photos are untouched — PicSift never moves or modifies
them. The scores and curation decisions live in PicSift's local
database; reinstalling clears that database. If you've enabled
optional iCloud sync, your curation decisions (keep / reject /
star) follow you to the new device.
How do I request a feature or suggest a change?

We read every email. Tell us what you tried, what you expected,
and what you wanted instead.
